East Porth, Tean
East Porth and West Porth are two beaches located on the south coast of Teän. West Porth faces southeast towards St. Martins whilst its near neighbour East Porth faces southwest towards Tresco.
Teän is an uninhabited island situated on the northern fringes of the Isles of Scilly archipelago and lies between the larger islands of Tresco and St Martin's. The island has an area of about 40 acres, and consists mainly of a series of granite tors ringed by beaches. The highest point, Great Hill, lies near the east coast of Teän and stands 40 metres (130 ft) above sea level.
The island was inhabited in the past, with archaeological evidence showing occupation from the Bronze Age to the early 19th century.
The island was notified as a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) in 1971 and this was re-notified in 1986.
Other beaches on Teän include St. Helen's Porth on the north of the island. On the east coast lies Yellow Carn Porth, looking across Teän Sound to the large island of St. Martin's, whilst on the north coast of the island lies Black Porth - a north facing beach overlooked by Great Hill.
