Half Term Craft Workshops for teenagers
23rd - 28th October
Ceramics workshop and Pyrography workshop
On Monday the 23rd of October between 2-4pm we will be running an introductory course in ceramics.
Come and enjoy an afternoon being creative and learning new skills.
Students will learn to hand build pinch pots and layers pots using clay and various tools. You will be instructed on how to produce a pot and a tile with your own unique design.
The items produced in the class can be left behind for kiln firing and picked up a couple of weeks later.
This workshop is being funded by The Norman Family Charitable trust.
Bookings can be made on our website or you can phone Louise Poor for more information.
On Saturday the 28th of October between 2-4pm we are running a pyrography workshop.
The art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point.
This technique of decoration and marking dates back to the earliest time of man's evolution and his desire to be creative by using a heated object to leave designs on leather and wood.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to attend an introductory two hour session of pyrography at The Craft Collective shop in Redruth. Students will get two hours in which to decorate a wooden spoon and a box with unique wood burned designs. They will be shown how to varnish and care for their products.
The only cost for each workshop is a £5 booking fee.
The class will be small and friendly.
