Trewethen and Pengenna Mine lies one and a half miles southwest of St. Teath in the St. Kew parish of North Cornwall. The mine worked a lead-zinc lode and an antimony lode just north of Pengenna Farm. The lodes were worked from five shafts numbered 1 to 5, as well as Cowling's Shaft. The mine lies adjacent to Treburgett Mine, whilst nearby lie Pendoggett and Treore mines. Records of production are: 16 tons of antimony ore between 1860 and 1862.

There are reports of fine examples of the Lead/Iron/Antimony sulphide mineral 'Torbernite' present here as well as psilomelane and siderite.

Now that 'World Heritage' status has been achieved Cornwall in Focus will monitor developments and learn how the mines of North Cornwall fare within the overall Mining framework.

For those of you with possibly a little more time to explore, once you've done 'the tourist bit', why not explore Cornwall's industrial heritage through its Tin and Copper Mines or learn more from my Cornish Bookstore
