Wendron Mining District - Wheal Squire

Wheal Squire lies near the hamlet of Trenedros, just to the east of the Hayle River about half a mile south of St. Erth and one and threequarter miles northeast of St. Hilary. The mine worked four major lodes. These were South Lode worked from Snell's Shaft, Croft's Shaft, Old Engine Shaft, and Engine Shaft. Middle Lode was cut by Snell's Shaft, Old Engine Shaft and Shop Shaft. North Lode was developed from Snell's, Henwell's and Trevarton's Shafts whilst Doctor's Lode was cut by Snell's Shaft.

Apart from the 140 tons of copper raised between 1852 and 1853, there are no other records of output.
