Eating Out around Cornwall

Cornwall has always been known as a land of rugged cliffs and windswept moors... Over recent years it has also gained a reputation for producing excellent fresh food, now available from a host of farmers markets, lovingly prepared for your delictation by a growing number of highly skilled chefs. There are now several award winning restaurants dotted around the county to try. Celebrities visit Cornwall for its spectacular scenery and slower pace of living. Jamie Oliver's Fifteen at Watergate Bay continues to set the bench mark with Jamie following the trend set by Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant at nearby Padstow.

Tideford

Rod and Line. Just 100yards from the main A38 into Cornwall in the village of Tideford, 6 miles from the Tamar Bridge, you'll find the Rod & Line Inn. The pub is renowned throughout the area for the condition of its beers and the quality of the food - particularly its crab dishes, king prawns, scallops and fillet steaks and for its warm welcome to locals and visitors alike. If you like a theme pub where everything matches and has been designed by some corporate team, then forget the Rod. This is a proper Cornish pub with the ambience of yesteryear but most definitely in the 21st century. Across the road from the pub there is a large children's play area and a large public car park.
Church Road, Tideford.
