A turf-cutting ceremony has recently been held in Cornwall on the site where the county's first children's hospice is to be built.
The event marked the start of work on the eight-bed Little Harbour at Porthpean, near St Austell.
Children's Hospice South West was given approval to build the complex in March.
The charity's Precious Lives Appeal is hoping to raise £5m to pay for the hospice, which is scheduled to open by the end of 2011.
Little Harbour will be the Charity's third Hospice after Little Bridge House in North Devon and Charlton Farm near Bristol.
