Celebrity TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's wants to see an end to 'insane' waste of perfectly edible fish.
The bill for our unfettered appetite for seafood is one that we, and the world's oceans, can't afford to pay. The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) is working now to solve the overfishing crisis.
Now more than ever, MCS needs your support to combat the effects of overfishing in our seas.

MCS has put its name behind a campaign, to be officially launched by River Cottage chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall in early 2011, to highlight the much-criticised practice of discarding.
Discards are fish that can be eaten but are thrown overboard dead - either because they take the catch over quota or because they are deemed to be poor quality or low grade.
Half of all fish caught in the North Sea are thrown overboard in this way. That equates to almost a million fish discarded. Fish that could be eaten.
Hugh is attending a meeting of EU ministers and delegates discussing the Common Fisheries Policy in Brussels today, to call for an end to the practice of discarding.
You can add your voice to the call, by viewing the video here and signing up here.
Thank you.
