Newquay

Newquay (Cornish: Tewynn Pleustri or Towan Blystra) is a town, civil parish, seaside resort and fishing port on the north Atlantic coast of Cornwall. It is bounded to the west by the River Gannel and its associated salt marsh, and in the east by the Porth Valley. The town has been expanding inland since it was founded. According to the 2001 census it had a permanent population of 19,423.

There are several good beaches here at Fistral, Great Western, Tolcarne, Lusty Glaze and Porth, with the best surfing usually found at Fistral. Numerous pubs and clubs entertain vistors after dark, whilst the older generation, or those needing to relax may wish to walk the cliffs south to Holywell Bay or north to Watergate Bay.

Attractions found in and around Newquay include the Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay Animal Park, the National Trust Gardens at Trerice and Lappa Valley at nearby St. Newlyn East. There are several good hotels as well as guesthouses, bed and breakfast establishments, holiday parks and campsites. In fact there's something for everyone...
