The Beaches of East Cornwall - E39 - Plaidy Beach
This map is part of the Ordnance Survey's Explorer series designed to replace the old Pathfinder map series. At 1:25,000 scale this detailed map shows a host of attractions including gardens which are open to the public, nature reserves and country parks as well as all official footpaths, bridleways, roads and lanes. Other facilities covered include: camping and caravan sites, picnic areas and viewpoints, selected places of interest, rights of way information for England and Wales, National Trail and Recreational Path routes, and selected tourist information. Plaidy beach lies about ½ mile east of Looe along a pleasant wooded path. Along with the nearby Millendreath Beach, Plaidy caters for those visitors staying at the nearby Millendreath Holiday Village. The coarse sand of the beach is quite greyish in character along with most other beaches of South East Cornwall. There is a dog ban here but all the usual faciities are found close by. Parking close to the beach is almost non-existent so it is usually best to park away from the coast and walk down. Facilities
