The Beaches of North Cornwall - N15 - Rock
This map is part of the Ordnance Survey's Explorer series designed to replace the old Pathfinder map series. At 1:25,000 scale this detailed map shows a host of attractions including gardens which are open to the public, nature reserves and country parks as well as all official footpaths, bridleways, roads and lanes. Other facilities covered include: camping and caravan sites, picnic areas and viewpoints, selected places of interest, rights of way information for England and Wales, National Trail and Recreational Path routes, and selected tourist information. The series is aimed mainly at the experienced map user but can be used by tourists and locals alike. Location: North Coast - Opposite Padstow
A wide sandy beach that looks out across the Doom Bar in the Camel Estuary to Padstow. It is very popular due to its close proximity to Padstow and has become a 'millionaires playground' . There are good coastal walks here, north to Daymer Bay and Polzeath, up onto Brea Hill and Cassock Hill or through the dunes to St. Enodoc Church to see John Betjeman's grave. There is also a short walk south to the beach at Porthilly Cove. Parking is available at the Quarry Car Park. It is also possible to park at Padstow and take the Rock Ferry across the estuary.
