The Beaches of North Cornwall - N16 - Daymer Bay
This map is part of the Ordnance Survey's Explorer series designed to replace the old Pathfinder map series. At 1:25,000 scale this detailed map shows a host of attractions including gardens which are open to the public, nature reserves and country parks as well as all official footpaths, bridleways, roads and lanes. Other facilities covered include: camping and caravan sites, picnic areas and viewpoints, selected places of interest, rights of way information for England and Wales, National Trail and Recreational Path routes, and selected tourist information. The series is aimed mainly at the experienced map user but can be used by tourists and locals alike. Location: North Coast - 1 mile south of Polzeath
A wide sandy beach that looks out across the Doom Bar in the Camel Estuary to Hawkers Cove and Harbour Cove, Padstow and the sea. It is very popular due to its close proximity to Padstow and the more 'up market' Rock. West facing, there is good wind surfing here but surfing can be difficult on big tides. There are good coastal walks here, through the dunes to St. Enodoc Church or up onto Brea Hill and Cassock Hill. Parking is available at the northern end of the bay. It is possible to park at Padstow and take the Rock Ferry across the estuary and then walk to Daymer Bay. Facilities
