The Beaches of North Cornwall - N24 - Trebarwith Strand
This map is part of the Ordnance Survey's Explorer series designed to replace the old Pathfinder map series. At 1:25,000 scale this detailed map shows a host of attractions including gardens which are open to the public, nature reserves and country parks as well as all official footpaths, bridleways, roads and lanes. Other facilities covered include: camping and caravan sites, picnic areas and viewpoints, selected places of interest, rights of way information for England and Wales, National Trail and Recreational Path routes, and selected tourist information. The series is aimed mainly at the experienced map user but can be used by tourists and locals alike. Location: North Coast - 2 miles south of Tintagel
A lesser known beach just west of Tintagel. There is no beach at high tide but a decent amount of sand at low tide. The beach is interspersed with large slabs of slate and was once used as a small port for the nearby Delabole Slate Quarry. There is good swell here as it is west facing and is protected at its northern end by Penhallic Point and the Dennis Scale cliffs. There are excellent coast path walks southwest towards Tregardock over Backways Cove or northeast into Tintagel passing the many slate quarries en route. Facilities
